Paralegal graduates from accredited Law Society of Ontario (LSO) programs gain experience in corporate, family, real estate, wills, estate law and more when enrolled in the Law Clerk Advanced fast-track program. Whether you want to transition to a broader range of practice areas as a law clerk or supplement your paralegal skills, this program will expand the knowledge you already possess while providing you with the competitive edge you need to move into a successful legal career.
The three-semester Law Clerk – Advanced (fast-track) program will provide you with extensive training in the theory and practice of law as well as a field placement opportunity and advanced job search strategies required to give you the edge to launch an exciting legal career.

PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES
- Support the needs of clients and legal professionals through the use of accurate terminology and professional communication strategies, both orally and in writing.
- Complete all work within routine and unexpected time lines and limitation periods within the legal environment.
- Use current and relevant electronic and print resources proficiently, within the legal environment, to conduct legal research, to assist with file and evidentiary management, to facilitate communication and to generate legal documentation, in compliance with current regulations and procedures.
- Research and summarize the presenting legal issues, applying knowledge of substantive and procedural law to support the legal team and draft the appropriate legal documents.
- Integrate rules of procedure to support best legal practices.
- Conduct oneself professionally in adherence to the guidelines of the Law Society of Ontario.
- Perform and, where appropriate, delegate clerical and administrative duties for the operation of a variety of legal environments.
- Outline strategies for ongoing professional development to ensure continuing competence and career growth as a Law Clerk.
- Act equitably and justly with diverse populations.
- Provide support for legal professionals in courts and administrative tribunals within the legal system.
- Initiate effective interpersonal relations, including conflict resolution and team building skills, in a legal environment.

- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or Mature Student Status
- Grade 12 English (C or U)
