The Ontario government is providing $86 million to help train up to 8,000 Personal Support Workers (PSWs). This investment is part of the government’s Long-Term Care Staffing Plan and is yet another way the province is collaborating with key partners to improve the care and quality of life of people living in long-term care.
Eligible CCBST students can receive up to $13,235 to cover the costs of tuition, books, and other mandatory fees, as well as a stipend of up to $5735 for a clinical work placement.
To be eligible for financial support, students must start their PSW training at CCBST between May 1 and July 31, 2021. Candidates must be permanent residents or Canadian citizens to qualify. Conditions apply.
Become a Caring Personal Support Worker
The Personal Support Worker Certification program at CCBST trains students to provide physical, psychological and social assistance to their patients. Develop the full range of skills required to assist people with their personal and household needs in order to ensure their contentment and well being.
You will learn how to best provide support and personal care to individuals including assisting with dressing, personal hygiene, mobility and routine activities in accordance with the Regulated Health Professionals Act.

Funding Your Education
CCBST is an excellent option for individuals who want to get ahead without a major financial burden. At CCBST, tuition is more affordable than larger schools while maintaining the same quality of education.
You may also be eligible to receive OSAP (Government Financial Aid) as all CCBST programs are full time.
Lastly, you may qualify for Second Career Eligibility Ontario. The Second Career program provides support to laid-off employees who will benefit from retraining to find work.
