The following are academic and leadership scholarships for undergraduate students in the province of Alberta:
Alberta Federation of Agriculture Scholarship
One scholarship of $500 is awarded to a student attending full-time in the second or subsequent year of post-secondary study in Alberta, and enrolled in a program related to the field of Agriculture. Academic achievement will also be taken into consideration.

Canadian Oil Sands Network for Research and Development (CONRAD) Scholarship
Two awards of $5,000 are awarded to students enrolled full-time in their final year of postsecondary study at the undergraduate and graduate level and who are involved in projects that have commercial potential and/or relevance. The program of study should be relevant to oil sands technology development from mine or reservoir to tailings and remediation such as but not limited to Natural or Biological Sciences and Engineering.

Alberta Excellence in Agriculture Scholarship
Two awards of $3,000 are awarded to students enrolled full-time in the second or subsequent year of post-secondary study in Alberta, and enrolled in a program related to the field of agriculture. Awarded on the basis of academic achievement.

The David Johnson Law Scholarship
Two scholarships valued at $10,000 are available to students enrolled in the Faculty of Law at the University of Alberta and the University of Calgary. Awarded on the basis of an applicant’s past accomplishments including academic achievement and volunteer activities.

Louise McKinney Post-Secondary Scholarship
Approximately 1,400 scholarships of $2,500 are awarded to students continuing in the second or subsequent year of post-secondary study. Awards are based on academic achievement. Students enrolled in programs within the province are nominated by the awards office of eligible institutions. Students studying outside of Alberta (because their program of study is not offered in Alberta) should contact Alberta Scholarship Programs.

Jason Lang Scholarship
Approximately 16,000 scholarships of $1,000 are awarded to post-secondary students enrolled in an undergraduate or professional program at eligible post-secondary institutions in Alberta. The minimum required average is 3.2 on a 4.0 grade point scale in the qualifying year of study. Students who meet the eligibility criteria are nominated by the participating Alberta post-secondary institutions.

Persons Case Scholarship
These awards recognize students whose studies will contribute to the advancement of women, or who are studying in fields where women are traditionally few in number. Selection is based on program of studies, academic achievement, and community involvement. Awards range in value from $1,000 to $5,000. A maximum of $100,000 is available each year.

Charles S. Noble Scholarship for Study at Harvard
Three scholarships of $10,000 are awarded to students for undergraduate study at Harvard. The awards are co-sponsored by the Alberta Heritage Scholarship Fund and an endowment established by Edmonton businessman Sandy Mactaggart.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Scholarship
To commemorate the visit of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to Alberta, 25 scholarships of $2,000 each are available to students who have been in government care and have overcome significant challenges in their lives while pursuing their post-secondary studies. Eligible students must be Advancing Futures Bursary recipients and be returning to full-time post-secondary studies or to other eligible programs. The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic achievement; the highest grade point average while working toward a degree, diploma or certificate. Students taking post-secondary upgrading courses or attending a specialized high school are also eligible.
Deadline: Recipients are selected by Children and Youth Services in the fall.
Laurence Decore Award for Student Leadership
A total of 100 awards of $1,000 each are available to recognize outstanding leadership in the areas of student government, student societies, clubs or organizations at the post-secondary level. Students who meet the eligibility criteria are nominated by the participating Alberta postsecondary institution.

Lois Hole Humanities and Social Sciences Scholarship
Four scholarships of $5,000 each are available to students enrolled full-time in the second or subsequent year of post-secondary study in Humanities or Social Sciences at the University of Alberta, the University of Calgary, the University of Lethbridge, and Athabasca University. Awarded on the basis of academic merit, demonstrated leadership and community service.

Dr. Gary McPherson Leadership Scholarship
A total of 100 scholarships of $2,000 each are available to recognize students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, especially in the area of disability and/or initiative to improve the conditions and lives of others while attending a post-secondary institution in Alberta. Students submit their completed application to the student awards office at their postsecondary institution.
